FAQs

What if I don't have any apparent damage?

If there has been hail in your area a close inspection of your roof, siding, windows and exterior will need to be done by an experienced Storm Restoration specialist. Disaster Recovery Instantly representatives have undergone extensive training in regards to Industry standards. Generally, you cannot see hail damage on your roof from the ground.

Can you file my insurance claim for me?

All insurance companies require that the policy holder or homeowner file the claim themselves but we are available for any assistance you may need.

How much out-of-pocket expense is this going to cost me?

Our inspections are FREE. If we do not find sufficient damage to warrant an insurance claim filing we let you know. If we find sufficient damage and your insurance company agrees to our findings the most it can cost to you is the amount of your Insurance deductible.

Should I have a contractor meet with my insurance adjuster?

Absolutely. The insurance companies have someone working on their side, shouldn't you? One of our Storm Restoration specialists will meet with you during your meeting with your insurance adjuster to ensure no damages are being overlooked.

My neighbor got a new roof, why was I turned down?

The truthful answer to this question is because you probably didn't choose a contractor that specializes in Restoration recovery. Hail storms are typically not that selective, if neighboring properties suffered damages chances are you did too. We are highly successful in our re-negotiations with the insured’s provider. If we feel you have suffered damages we will give it all we have to ensure you are treated fairly by your insurance company.

What is hail damage?

Hail from hailstorms come in different shapes, sizes and velocities. When these rock hard ice pellets hit your home, numerous hail damage patterns can be formed. Severe hailstorms can cause granular loss on shingles, holes in your siding, or broken glass.  In less volatile circumstances your shingles may become softened, your siding can become chipped, cracked or dented, and water leakage can form from compromised materials on the exterior of your home. This could threaten you and your family’s comfort and safety.

Do I need someone to inspect my home for hail damage?

It is highly recommended that you contact a Restoration specialist for a thorough damage inspection of your home. There are many types of damages that can only be detected by trained eyes. Disaster Recovery Instantly provides a no-obligation inspection for hail damage and can make recommendations regarding the best way to move forward.

When is the right time to call a hail damage specialist?

It is important that you call Disaster Recovery Instantly immediately after your home is hit by a storm. This is especially important if you have insurance because all damages must be recorded and documented for claims.

Do I still need a professional inspector even if I don’t see any hail damage in my roof and siding?

Except in severe cases, hail damage to roofing and siding is very difficult to spot unless inspected a by Storm Restoration specialist.  Hail damage that is not obvious from the naked eyes can be equally as dangerous as visible damage.   When hail stones hit your roof, it causes a soft spot where the outer layer of granules will be very loose.  Overtime the granules in these damaged spots will fall out, causing your roof to age and deteriorate drastically.  This may also be true to siding and windows.  Waiting will only worsen the damage, so call immediately for an inspection.

Is hail damage covered by manufacturer’s warranty?

Most manufacturers, home builders and home contractors do not include hail damage in their warranty.

Is hail damage covered by homeowners insurance?

Yes. Hail damage is covered by most common home insurance policies .The amount of your insurance will vary according to the premiums and terms of your policy.  It is important that you have an experienced, knowledgeable representative when dealing with Insurance companies.

What damages should I report to my insurance?

It is extremely important to properly inform your insurers of the full extent of the damage so they can accurately compensate for all losses covered.
